This week, Orano signed the Working with Cancer pledge in the presence of Agathe Bousquet, Chair of Publicis France who represented the campaign, together with Nicolas Maes, CEO, Hélène Derrien, Senior Executive Vice President, People & Communications, and Laura Denêtre, Medical Coordinator.
While cancer is an undeniable reality in our personal and professional environment, Orano has been keen to engage in support initiatives at work to improve screening of its employees, encourage the adoption of behaviors favorable to health, and improve support for personnel with a potential cancer diagnosis.
The decision to join the campaign launched by Chair and CEO of the Publicis group, Arthur Sadoun, is aligned with the Orano group’s commitment to deploying support and prevention initiatives for all employees in the 17 countries where it operates. The pledge aims in particular to promote the screening and prevention of cancer and to support affected employees to stay in work or return to employment. Orano is also committed to informing its staff and raising awareness around active listening to create a culture in which managers and employees support those affected during their illness. This undertaking complements agreements signed by Orano’s Executive Management team and representative trade union organizations which for years have illustrated the company’s proactive policy in championing diversity, inclusion, gender equality and the professional development of each employee.
For Nicolas Maes, “This charter is a significant step towards creating a working environment that is conducive to health and well-being for all of our employees around the world. The approach is aligned with our commitments to individual and collective responsibility. And because the collective is core to our values, we are proud today to join the French and international companies which, through the outstanding drive of Arthur Sadoun, Chair of the Publicis group, are helping to change the way we look at cancer and to remove the burden of silence around those affected by it.”
Agathe Bousquet added: “This signature of the Working with Cancer pledge is particularly meaningful to us because Orano is a French flagship company, but it’s also present in more than 17 countries where the same guarantees of prevention and protection will be offered to employees.”
