Coinciding with the WNA symposium, Orano and Urenco have announced the signing of a consortium agreement for the development of the new 30B-X cylinder designed to transport enriched natural uranium.
The goals and challenges addressed by the WNA are aligned with the global stakes of meeting vital decarbonization objectives. Access to affordable, uninterrupted low-carbon energy is one of the greatest challenges facing the world's population today.
As a leading nuclear energy company, Orano is striving to reduce its carbon footprint throughout its operations, and continues to contribute to the production of lower-carbon electricity.
The Group is making strong progress towards its ambitious target for 2025: a 50% reduction in its C02 emissions compared with 2015.
Between 2015 and 2022, Orano has already achieved a 46% reduction in C02 emissions.
The symposium also provided an opportunity to present the 2023 report on nuclear fuel, with a session featuring Pierre Joly, Vice President of Strategic Uranium Marketing at Orano.
