CHARLOTTE, N.C., December 3, 2014 – AREVA TN, a division of AREVA Inc., has been awarded a multimillion-dollar contract by Exelon for the supply of used nuclear fuel storage systems.
This contract includes the delivery of NUHOMS® 61BTH dry shielded canisters and horizontal storage modules to the Limerick Generating Station, located about 20 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
The storage modules will be installed by the AREVA TN fuel loading team beginning in 2015. The canisters will be manufactured by Columbiana Hi Tech (CHT) at the new Kernersville, N.C., manufacturing facility.
