8 Positions (4 Permanent & 4 Temporary)

Orano Canada is a leading producer of uranium in Canada, working to power the future with clean energy! As we expand our team and take on exciting new projects in Saskatchewan’s North, we invite you to be a part of our team!

 

In this role, your primary mission will be to skillfully and safety operate the site hydrovac unit, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. You’ll also have the opportunity to manage a variety of heavy equipment, including water and vacuum trucks, as well as IT28 wheel loaders. You’ll conduct routine inspections and monitor pumping activities to maintain optimal flows. If you are ready to bring your experience to our team, we encourage you to apply!

 

Responsibilities include:

·         Safely operate the site hydrovac unit

·         Equipment operation includes: water truck, vacuum truck (w/ standard transmission) and IT28 wheel loader

·         May be required to operate D8/9 dozer and 988 loader

·         Perform routine inspection of assigned equipment, keep equipment clean and in working order

·         Monitor pumping activities and maintain flows to the separation unit and water cannon

·         Assist with pond cleaning and separation unit operations as needed

·         Move and restack recovered pond solids as needed

·         Clean out vac truck tanks, ore bins and other tanks as needed

·         Other duties as assigned

 

Work Location & Schedule: 

·         McClean Lake mine site

·         14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule

·         Flights from Saskatoon, room & board onsite covered by Orano Canada

·         Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required

Fly Day- This position will fly in and fly out on Friday

 

Pick-Up Points: Saskatoon, Prince Albert, La Ronge, Buffalo Narrows and the designated communities in the Athabasca region of  Uranium City, Stony Rapids, Fond du Lac, and Wollaston.

Ideal qualifications

Skills and Qualifications for the position include:

• Residents of Saskatchewan’s North (RSN) applicants will be given preference
• Possess Grade 12 or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in mining, oilfield or construction industry is required
• Previous training and experience (e.g. excavation, line location) with hydrovac truck is required
• Experience on 988 loader, D8 dozer and 777 haul trucks is preferred
• Experience working in remote or industrial locations is considered an asset
• Must possess a valid driver’s license (1A license an asset)
• Must be able to work independently and be self-sufficient in the field
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
• Must be able to operate a standard transmission
• This position is physically demanding. The successful candidate must be able to conduct moderate levels of physical labor
