TN Americas, a subsidiary of Orano, is seeking an Estimator / MES Administrator to support activities in our state-of-the-art fabrication facility in Kernersville, NC.  This hybrid role will have a dual responsibility in these two key areas.  As Estimator, you will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates for fabrication and machining projects. This includes analyzing drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive project estimates. The Estimator plays a crucial role in project planning, budgeting, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.  You will provide support for Manufacturing Execution System (MES) used throughout the manufacturing environment.  

 

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Review and evaluate project bids and proposals.
  • Analyze complex engineered drawings and specifications to understand project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for material, labor and equipment.
  • Work with Proposal Managers, Project Managers and SMEs to develop project plans and schedules.
  • Understand current shop capabilities and provide input on outsourcing.
  • Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and lead times.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of cost for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Assist in negotiating contracts and pricing with vendors and suppliers.
  • Provide cost saving recommendations to improve project profitability.
  • Track project cost and update estimates as necessary throughout project lifecycle.
  • Use manufacturing process knowledge to administer and maintain Manufacturing Execution System (MES), interfacing with Project Management, Engineering and Material Control.
  • Capable of training other personnel in MES functions.

Please Note: The provided pay information is a guideline. Your offered salary is based upon experience, qualifications, geographic location, as well as market and business considerations.
Pay Range: $80,000-$95,000

Ideal qualifications

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity.  Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position:

 

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost estimating, preferably in metal fabrication or machining.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of , specifically Excel and Project.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing estimates.

 

The following experience and knowledge are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
