We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Safety Manager to oversee our facility's nuclear safety programs and lead our safety engineering initiatives. This role combines technical expertise with strategic leadership to ensure the highest standards of nuclear safety compliance and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Safety Basis Documents and ISA Summaries
  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of safety principles from reference plants into IROFS designs
  • Manage safe-by-design system approach development and equipment interface coordination
  • Oversee and document critical system interfaces
  • Evaluate design changes against license applications per 10CFR70 requirements
  • Collaborate with the Licensing group on ISA Summary maintenance
  • Coordinate with various departments to maintain the Integrated Schedule
  • Direct Process Hazard Analysis, Criticality Hazard Analysis, Fire Hazard Analysis, and External Hazard Analysis
  • Develop and maintain Nuclear Safety Programs, plans, and procedures
  • Lead major system safety reviews
  • Ensure compliance with NRC regulations and safety standards

Ideal qualifications

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this   opportunity.  Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher-level position.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
    5-7 years of relevant nuclear safety experience
  • Advanced knowledge of NRC safety standards
  • Strong technical communication and documentation skills
  • Proven ability to manage complex safety systems and processes

 

Education Equivalency

  • Master's degree or MBA may substitute for 1-2 years of required experience
  • PhD may substitute for 2-3 years of required experience
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license accepted in lieu of 4-year engineering degree in applicable states

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with:
    - Items Relied On For Safety (IROFS)
    - Integrated Safety Analysis (ISA)
    - Safety Analysis Report (SAR)
    - HAZOP methodology
    - Risk Determination
    - NRC 10CFR70 License application process
  • Advanced degree in Nuclear Engineering or related field
  • Previous management experience in nuclear safety

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Proficiency in technical documentation and reporting
