Join our outstanding fabrication team in Orano’s state-of-the-art Kernersville facility! Embark on a career in supplying the nuclear industry with specialized products proudly made here in the heart of North Carolina!

 

Orano is seeking a Manual Machinist to support the Machining work performed as part of TN Fabrication's NC facility in Kernersville/Greensboro.  

 

Major duties & responsibilities:

  • Set up and machine parts using manual horizontal boring mills, vertical lathes, manual mills and Bridgeports, grinders, and drill presses.
  • Produces complex to highly complex conventional milled/turned parts and tooling to accurate tolerances.
  • Perform routine checks/dimensional inspections during work cycle and makes adjustments within allowable limits to maintain specified tolerances; may check work of other machinists as directed by supervisor.
  • Ability to interpret complex drawings and features; must be able to interpret verbal and written instructions.
  • Determines tasks needed to complete machined parts.
  • Follows all travelers/routers and machining procedures.
  • Occasionally may work with engineering to assist with development of procedures, methods, or processes.
  • Capable of creating or modifying fixturing, as necessary.
  • May act as lead, as directed by supervisor.
  • Play an active role in creating a safe and healthy workplace and comply with all applicable safety and health rules.

Skills/Knowledge required:

  • Broad knowledge of conventional machining operations, including tool/fixture selection and application.

Please Note: The provided pay information is a guideline. Your offered salary is based upon experience, qualifications, geographic location, as well as market and business considerations.

Pay Range: $27-$31/hour

Ideal qualifications

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity.  Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position:

  • Minimum of four years manual machining experience.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures pertaining to position.
  • Must possess mechanical aptitude.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, and remain standing for long periods of time.
