Job description

Responsibilities include: 

·         Deliver training programs, hands on training and record keeping for all areas of mill operations

·         Train unskilled operators in all facets of mill operations

·         Work with all levels of management to coordinate companywide training programs

·         Train Mill Operators according to approved procedures and work instructions

·         Plan training required for each operator

·         Enter training records

·         Successfully communicate with trainees and develop their skills in safety, work procedures, circuit knowledge, operating techniques, record keeping, and other areas as required

·         To liaise with Human Resources & Training, Mill Operations, Maintenance, Environment, Metallurgy and Safety departments

·         Undertake other tasks as assigned by the Senior Mill Operations Trainer

·         Assist in maintaining procedures and work instructions

·         Continually update operating knowledge

·         Partner with the Training Advisors to ensure the effectiveness of the SAT program

·         Embrace and support Operational Excellence efforts and OE Culture

·         Comply with all Orano health, safety and environmental policies, practices and procedures

·         Promote and adhere to Orano Canada’s values: Customer Satisfaction, Continuous Improvement, Respect and People Development, Cohesion and Team Spirit, and Exemplarity, Integrity, Responsibility

 

Efforts and Demands for the position include:

·         Ability to work with both operations and maintenance departments

·         Some exposure to lifting and high heat conditions

 

Work Location & Schedule: 

·         McClean Lake site

·         14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule

·         Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required

Fly Day- This position will fly in and fly out on Tuesday

 

Pick-Up Points: Saskatoon, Prince Albert, La Ronge, Buffalo Narrows and the designated communities in the Athabasca region of Uranium City, Stony Rapids, Fond du Lac, and Wollaston.

Ideal qualifications

Skills and Qualifications for the position include:

·         5+ years’ operating experience in a uranium mill is preferred

·         Certification and/or proven experience in Adult Education Principles and Training Program design and implementation

·         Experience training and working with Northern residents is an asset

·         Excellent communication, organizational and record keeping skills

·         Ability to operate in a leadership role with a crew and troubleshooting skills are critical to the position

·         Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word and Visio

This position is subject to pre-employment checks including education and criminal record verification. 

Drug and alcohol substance testing is a requirement for all safety sensitive positions at Orano Canada.
