Job description

TN Americas, a subsidiary of Orano USA is a leader of the American nuclear dry storage market.  The company offers a complete line of products and related services to the transportation, storage, and engineering sectors operating in the fuel cycle materials market. 

TN Americas LLC is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for its nuclear fabrication group in Kernersville, NC.

The Mechanical Engineering Intern will perform a variety of engineering and design tasks, including but not limited to:

• Perform standard engineering assignments, typically in areas of proposal development, work planning/scoping, design, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications/other technical documents, fabrication, and resolution of fabrication problems

•Evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and design modifications

•Support structural or other evaluations using standard calculations or analytical software

•Evaluate fabrication cycle times process steps to optimize efficiency

•Perform other related engineering duties and tasks, as required

Ideal qualifications

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. 

  • Pursuing B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
  • Basic knowledge of Mechanical Engineering standards, techniques and criteria
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data
  • Willingness to learn and with focus on continuous improvement
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to produce accurate and thorough work products in a timely manner
  • Ability to provide support and assistance to co-workers, as needed
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Experience/course work in equipment design & analysis involving computer tools and modeling software
