As a process engineering student, you will assist in key mill metallurgy operations and ensure accurate and up-to-date records. We look forward to your application!
Responsibilities include:
· Support the mill metallurgy department in process monitoring, optimization, and reporting
· Conduct metallurgical test work to support mill improvement, project, and R&D initiatives
· Write operational procedures for planned test work
· Ensure accurate record-keeping of all test work and process monitoring
· Complete sample preparation and basic analysis of solids and liquids samples
· Develop a basic knowledge of the mill process data systems (distributed control system, data historian, visualization tools)
· Assist in other duties in the metallurgical lab as required
General Duties:
· Work closely with site personnel to coordinate activities and testing
· Apply investigative and continuous improvement principles at personal, group, and operational levels
· Complete periodic workplace inspections, in conjunction with Orano and / or Contractor HSE personnel
· Embrace and support Operational Excellence efforts and OE Culture
· Comply with all Orano health, safety and environmental policies, practices and procedures

Work Location & Schedule:
· 4 month placement (May-August 2025)
· McClean Lake Operation (Northern Saskatchewan)
· 14 day in/ 14 day out rotating schedule (fly-in site)
· Potential for night shifts to support test work schedules
· Normally an 11-hour work day, although some activity outside of normal working hours may be required
· Some physicality will be required for the lifting and processing of samples, navigating the mill facility, and other miscellaneous duties
Fly Day- This position will fly in and fly out on Friday
Pick-Up Points: Saskatoon, Prince Albert, La Ronge, Buffalo Narrows and the designated communities in the Athabasca region of Uranium City, Stony Rapids, Fond du Lac, and Wollaston.
Skills and Qualifications for the position include:
· Must be enrolled in Mine or Chemical Engineering program and entering third or fourth year of study
· Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Word & Excel
· Experience working with SQL, MS Access, MS Teams, or OSIsoft PI is an asset
· Experience with Sharepoint intranet collaboration sites is considered an asset
· Experience working on ore processing is considered an asset
· Experience working at a remote mine/mill site is considered an asset
· Experience working in a laboratory setting or a industrial environment is an asset
· Excellent analytical and interpersonal communication skills are required; both written and verbal
· Attention to detail and meticulous record keeping
· Strong trouble-shooting and critical thinking skills
· Must be able to work effectively to coordinate with other departments within the company as well as external contractors and consultants as required
· Ability to work in a team environment, as well as ability to work independently
· Preference will be given to qualified candidates who are residents of Saskatchewan’s North
