The Maintenance and Reliability Superintendent plays an important role in the safe and efficient production of uranium concentrate by leading the Maintenance and Reliability teams to achieve high reliability in uranium ore processing, minimizing equipment downtime, advancing improvement projects, effectively managing budgets while continually seeking cost saving opportunities, and fostering a reinforced safety culture. Reporting to the McClean Mill Manager, the M&R Superintendent works with a team of trades and professionals to ensure safe and smooth operations and identify and implement ideas and processes to allow us to innovate and propel maintenance and engineering improvements.
Responsibilities and Objectives:
Champion:
· Risk assessment, mitigation and safe work practices consistent with Orano expectations, regulatory policies and regulations
· Safe work behaviours and leadership in the maintenance team
· Use of reliability analyses (e.g. RCM, FMEA) and investigation techniques to make data-driven determinations and plans
· Continual improvement by deploying of Operational Excellence tools and techniques for problem solving, workplace efficacy, and transparent management

Plan:
· Preventative and predictive maintenance actions to maintain critical assets, safety-critical controls, and process reliability
· Annual maintenance operating and sustaining capital budgets
· Complete medium and long term planning of departmental objectives. Oversee a yearly capital budget of approximately $10M and manage a maintenance budget of roughly $10M
Implement:
· Collaborate with Supply Chain team to achieve reliability goals through proper assessment of critical spare parts inventory, optimized to minimize operating risks while maximizing turns
· Programs that foster the development of team members receiving the required training in terms of regulations, the collective agreement, crew flexibility, and supervisor development
· Sustain existing and develop new measurements and metrics for monitoring performance and making data-driven conclusions
· Operating programs, procedures and work instructions which guide safe and effective work performance
· Mechanisms for compliance to regulated programs such as site secondary containment, tank and vessel recertification and structural integrity are critical in this position
As a senior site-based leader:
· Contribute to the success of the leadership team by participating in discussions and encouraging colleagues to make measured decisions
· Collaborate with colleagues from many departments on cross-functional issues
· Implement company policies on the hiring and development of employees
Qualities and skills we’re seeking:
· Minimum of 10 years of industrial maintenance experience is required
· 5 years of senior leadership or supervisory experience is required
· Post-Secondary education is required (degree, diploma, or certificate). P. Eng. Certification is an asset
· Knowledge of principles of maintenance reliability and the standard maintenance work flow
· Experience with project management is an asset
· Able to develop positive working relationships with all team members and work closely with senior management
· Must have excellent communication skills both written and oral
Work Location & Schedule:
· McClean Lake Mine site
· This position is on a management flex schedule
· Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside of normal working hours is frequently
required
