Job description

Orano Canada is a leading producer in uranium in Canada, working to power the future with clean energy! Our finance team is seeking a highly-motivated team player to contribute to our company’s success in a rewarding and enjoyable environment. This is a hybrid opportunity that is based in our beautiful Saskatoon office. Reporting to the Manager, Accounting, this position will be responsible for budgeting, accounting, and cost controlling for our Exploration Department.

 

What you’ll be accomplishing:

Budgeting:

·       Assisting the exploration staff in the preparation of the Corporate Exploration Budget, specifically the annual budget and review forecasts

·       Assisting the exploration staff with the annual assembly of the Joint Venture budgets for their presentations to the joint venture partners

·       Entering approved joint venture budgets into SAP for monthly reporting purposes

 

Accounting:

·       Reviewing all exploration-related invoices and costs to ensure accuracy of internal controls, coding, and appropriate approvals have been obtained in accordance with Orano procedures/policies

·       Completing month-end accounting in accordance with the timelines established by the Finance department, including accruals, journal entries and cash forecasts

·       Preparing annual Financial Information packages for Waterbury Joint Venture, Kiggavik Joint Venture and other subsidiaries

 

Project Cost Controlling, Reporting, & Invoicing:

·       Preparing accurate monthly cost reports for each exploration project to be reviewed by the Vice President, Exploration and distribution to joint venture exploration partners

·       Assisting Project Geologists and Geophysicists on project cost analysis, budgets and key performance indicators

·       Preparing and issuing monthly billing for each joint venture partner’s share of monthly costs as determined by the joint venture agreements

·       Performing other related tasks.

·       Embracing and supporting Operational Excellence efforts and OE Culture

·       Complying with all Orano health, safety and environmental policies, practices and procedures

Work Location & Schedule:

·       Limited travel required to exploration sites

Ideal qualifications

Qualities and skills we’re seeking:

·       Bachelor of Commerce Degree and/or significant accounting training and experience

·       CPA designation is considered an asset

·       3 to 5 years of relevant experience

·       Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, with experience using SAP an asset

·       Excellent planning and organization skills to coordinate efforts and meet deadlines

·       Excellent time management skills, analytical skills and able to prioritize work effectively

·       Strong oral and written communication skills

·       Cooperative and collaborative, ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team

·       Honest, ethical, and respects confidentiality
